Do you clean your Apple Watch strap?
An Apple Watch strap can be a nice sponge for sweat and other dirt. Is going to the washing machine a good idea?
The fact that we do it with our Sport Loops is clearly not recommended and Apple only recommends a soft cloth and fresh water to restore color to these accessories.
In any case, you will need to remove the eWatch Straps bracelet from your Apple Watch before cleaning it. The official procedure of the apple manufacturer is as follows, categorized into 3 categories:
For leather straps :
-
Clean the leather parts of the strap with a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water*. In any case, do not immerse the leather straps in water, as this may cause irreversible damage.
- Let the bracelet air dry completely. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
-
Once completely dry, you can reattach it to your Apple Watch.
* Over time, a patina naturally forms on leather straps. The color may change following contact with substances such as perfumes, lotions.
For the unique braided Loop , the Sport Loops , the Ocean strap , the silicone straps , the Alpine Loop , the fabric straps and the Trail Loop :
-
Clean the band with a soft, lint-free cloth. if necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water. You can also clean these bracelets using a mild hypoallergenic hand soap (also works with a mild shower gel).
-
Dry the eWatch Straps band using a soft, lint-free cloth before attaching it to your Apple Watch.
All other types of bracelets such as steel bracelets , buckles and lamella clasps :
-
Clean the band with a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water.
-
Dry the band with a soft, lint-free cloth before attaching it to your Apple Watch.
A little tip from the eWatch Straps team
To effectively wash your braided Apple Watch strap
The secret ingredient is baking soda (and a used toothbrush, optional).
-
In a container, bathe your braided Apple Watch band in lukewarm water. Add baking soda, and be generous with the dose (feel free to add a lot).
-
1 to 2 minutes soaked in lukewarm water is enough for the baking soda to take effect. Baking soda is not corrosive, but cleanly and effectively descales stains and dirt.
-
For Grandma's little trick, if you have a toothbrush, brush your bracelet in this same water, in order to remove the dirt using small circular rubbings, don't forget to do it on both sides of the bracelet. bracelet.
Important : 2 minutes after putting it in the water and after brushing it, I didn't see the difference, and so I said to myself that it didn't work, but finally it did; it is once dried that the bracelet regains its shine, as when purchased .
-
So to finish, dry your bracelet in a soft cloth. 10 to 20 minutes later, the bracelet comes out like new.
Give us your feedback in comments, good cleaning.

Encore merci !
